Swar Vyanjan - Words with matra of A, Aa ( अ, आ )

Simple words with matra of A and Aa are the easiest to begin writing the words. Kids often find it stressful to write the alphabets and then pronounce the word.
Alphabet A ( v ) doesn’t have any matra, in fact, all the alphabets – Vyanjans ( d & K ) end with the sound/ pronunciation of A ( v ).

This fact has to be made very clear to the little minds while practising that all the Vyanjan alphabets have matra of A ( ). Little attentive minds remember the clear instructions when reminded often.

These pictorial worksheets help the kids to identify the picture and then with little guidance they start writing the correct alphabets in the given blanks to complete the words.

I’m sure kids would love trying these colourful worksheets. All the words have been carefully selected from the daily usage words of spoken Hindi.

Swar Vyanjan - Matra ( ऋ pronounced Ri)

This is the last post for the section dealing with the basics of matra. /_ is an alphabet which often occurs/used in Sanskrit words. The matra is pronounced as Ri. Children get confused with the pronunciation and write the alphabet with matra of इ ( ि). The difference can be understood with ample practice.

This matra comes with practice in Primary classes and not in the Preparatory section. At the beginners level, kids need a lot of patience to help them to learn the written language.

The worksheets contain simple Sanskrit words found in the Hindi language at the school level.

In case readers have some more words for this section then please feel free to share so they may be included in practice worksheets.

Primary school - Swar Vyanjan - Matra ( 1. Nasal - Anuswar - अं )

Anuswar is nasal and semi nasal sound. It is difficult to make children understand the use of these matras. If as teachers/guides our concepts of basics of Hindi language - Vyanjan/Matras are clear, then this hurdle can be crossed with patience and practice.
While practising or pronouncing these words if we place our forefinger on our nostril to indicate the nasal sound it would help them to identify the nasal sound.
This post is all about the nasal sound - अं (Ang').

Swar Vyanjan - Matra (O/Ow ओ/औ )

The next set of matras is O/Ow (ओ/औ ). They would love to practice these set of words loudly. Identifying the objects, pronouncing the words helps in clarifying their doubts between ओ and औ sounds and written matras.
Regular practice of matras in play way method/ pronouncing rhyming words with flashcards helps children to learn writing the Hindi with ease.
