Fun with words 3 - Primary school

Fun with words is aimed to make learning fun. Group activities with something different from normal classroom teaching always interest kids a lot. They tend to absorb and remember whatever they learn in these fun-filled activities.

I have always observed that small kids are very inquisitive, observant and eager to learn. They are always ready with probing questions. It’s just how we handle their queries and satisfy their curiosity. It needs great patience.

Funs with words worksheets were just an afterthought to test their skills and observation. They would certainly try their hand in creating more new words and enjoy it. Summer holidays are here so let them enjoy these fun activities along with holiday homework.

Enjoy these worksheets along with little ones. A lot more fun with words worksheets to follow in future. Till then Happy teaching !!!!!

Primary school (Class 4,5,6) - Sangya (Noun)

In this second set of worksheets of Sangya (Noun) for class four onwards, the emphasis is more on written exercises.

In higher classes of Primary sections, two more kinds of nouns are added. Collective noun (
समूहवाचक संज्ञा) and Material noun ( द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा).

In Collective noun (
समूहवाचक संज्ञा) worksheets I have tried to club the words which are synonyms but are used in different contexts.

In
Material noun ( द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा) the words represent the material which we get from nature. In Material noun ( द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा) worksheets, the pictures show both the forms of the object - raw form and the refined form. It helps the kids to understand the concept of material we get from nature.

In lower classes where the above two mentioned categories of the noun are not introduced, in such cases, material noun
द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा) and collective noun (समूहवाचक संज्ञा) are marked as a common noun (जातिवाचक संज्ञा).

I am uploading the worksheets with different kinds of exercises. I would appreciate your suggestions and ideas to create more worksheets for Primary classes.
Happy teaching !!!

Primary School (class 1,2,3) - Sangya (Noun)

In the Hindi language, the meaning of word ‘Sangya’ is ‘name’. Children of Primary and Secondary school learn that Sangya or Noun is a naming word which identifies people, places, things and also expresses ideas, qualities, emotions, state of being etc.
In lower primary classes, kids are taught three kinds of nouns -
व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा (Proper noun) - Names of a specific person, place, languages, rivers, mountains etc. e.g. India, Delhi, Hindi, Urdu, Ganges, Kaveri, Himalayas, A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

जातिवाचक संज्ञा (Common noun) - It's a generic name of a person, place or a thing in a class or group. e.g. man, women, boys, girls, animals, birds, rivers etc.

भाववाचक संज्ञा (Abstract noun)- It refers to things that are immaterial and abstract in nature. We can feel it, sense it but cannot hold it as a concrete object. e.g. anger, happiness, joy, fear etc.

I am uploading worksheets explaining ‘Sangya’ and its types. This first set of worksheets is simple. These pictorial worksheets are for lower primary classes.

Teachers and parents are the best guides to give them a helping hand in understanding the concepts of grammar.

Happy teaching !!!
