Swar Vyanjan - Words with matra of O, Oo (उ,ऊ)

When we come to the matras of उ / ऊ the first word which comes to our mind is उल्लू or owl and ऊन or a ball of knitting wool.  

The matra of उ / ऊ is placed at the bottom of the alphabet. 

e.g. – उ - कु, चु, टु ... / ऊ - कू, चू, टू ...

But in alphabet र, it is placed in the mid of the alphabet.

e.g. - उ – रु, ऊ - रू

The pictorial worksheets include simple two/three letter words whereas some in some sheets kids have to join the alphabets, write and read the words.

Swar Vyanjan - Words with matra of ie, iee ( इ, ई )

This post is about the words with matra of इ and ई.

इ or ie is pronounced as I in it / in / is / ink in English words.

 The matra is placed before the alphabet. e.g. – कि, चि, रि...  

  

ई or iee is pronounced as vowel e in eagle / each / either, ease.. stressing on the pronunciation of 'ee'. 

The matra is placed after the alphabet. e.g. – की, ची, री...

All the words have been carefully selected from the daily usage words of spoken Hindi.

Kids can identify the pictures easily in the pictorial worksheets and with little guidance, they would start writing the alphabets with correct matras in the given blanks to complete the words.

In this post, I’ve included one Hindi poem with most of the words with matras इ / ई. Kids would love to learn it and recite it with actions. - 
        मछली जल की है रानी,
        जीवन उसका है पानी,
        हाथ लगाअोगे तो डर जाएगी,
        बाहर निकालोगे तो मर जाएगी।
